Work Hours: Weekends/3rd shift/10 hour days
Will be providing 24 -7 - 365 Level 2 Unix Server Support for client HQ and distribution centers nationwide and internationally. Candidate will be working with the following Unix operating systems: HPUX, AIX, SuSE Linux, RedHat Linux, SLES Linux, Sun Solaris.
One position will be responsible for working tickets, pages, new server build quality checks, problem management, projects that include complete system shutdown or database failovers and will only support the operating system and server itself in some hardware with very little SAN support. The infrastructure will vary from physical Servers to virtual Servers.
The other position will be responsible for IS pages and alerts only for the File Distribution side with tickets if it has a corresponding page.
Training will be provided. This is not an inbound call type of environment. Customers who need assistance will call in order to engage the existing team for support. This is a full time, 40 hour a week position with some overtime opportunities where needed. This is not an entry level position.
Required:
Experience with Unix (especially Linux or HPUX) Basic troubleshooting skills Ability to follow established processes and procedures Attention to detail Ability to multitask Good organizational skills Ability to work individually and in a team environment Good documentation skills Good communication skills (written and verbal)
Preferred:

years of relevant Unix Admin support experience Hardware support or knowledge in HP and IBM server products Clustering software knowledge (Pacemaker or Service Guard) TSM backup knowledge or experience EMC storage array knowledge Crash dump analysis VMware knowledge DRBD knowledge/experience
