Job Summary
This position is accountable for performing various assigned operations and minor maintenance tasks to keep operations running at peak efficiency.
Job Parameters
This position reports to the Location General Manager or the Operations Supervisor along with other full time or seasonal Operations Workers.
Due to frequent changes in work shifts and hours as well as the seasonality of the work, the Operations Worker III frequently has changes in duties. These duties and functions are included in the following parameters:
Perform inspection duties, including inbound grain sampling, probing, grading, and transferring through use of conveyors.
Operate truck scale.
Assist in train loading by working as engine operator and switch operator.
Operate various types of equipment such as: end loader, truck unloader, tractor, payloader, dump truck, etc.
Use basic tools such as: air hammer, torch, spray paint equipment, dockage tester, etc.
Work as a member of machinery maintenance crew as assigned, carrying out preventive maintenance and making minor repairs to assigned equipment as well as working on construction crew when assigned to such projects.
Engage in clean-up work and housekeeping duties in assigned areas.
Work in any areas assigned and change shifts as necessary due to the nature of the position.
9.Maintain current and in-depth knowledge of all safety policies and standards related to this position. Safety meeting attendance and pro-active incident reporting/identification is expected of all on-site personnel. To achieve full integration of safety into the culture, the incumbent will be expected to actively participate in safety training and any other safety related activities.
Human Relations
This position requires basic courtesies and the ability to cooperate with other members of assigned crews. Occasionally, others may be trained through the example set by the incumbent.
Instructions Received
Instructions are in the form of assignments to jobs, which are then performed according to established rules and work patterns. Incumbent receives frequent verbal instructions which must be readily comprehended and implemented.
The incumbent may work with a team or alone with at least daily review by the Location General Manager / Operations Supervisor. The incumbent will work in numerous areas of the plant and will work for various supervisors in short-time intervals requiring considerable adaptability.
Working Conditions
The position involves frequent exposure to fumes, cold, heat, dirt, dust, and noise. The incumbent must lift 50 to 100 pounds frequently and must be aware of the danger from working at heights or from slipping.
Background
A high school diploma or GED preferred. The incumbent must be familiar with plant activities relevant to material handling and have a demonstrated mechanical aptitude for plant maintenance. The incumbent must also know and exercise safety procedures.

Perform tasks as assigned by numerous supervisors to facilitate smooth plant operation.
Sample, probe, grade, weigh, transfer, and load grain to assure its smooth inbound and outbound flow.
Work on assigned tasks with machinery maintenance and construction crews to aid in the completion of jobs.
Perform all duties in a friendly, considerate, and cooperative manner that displays a willingness to work within the framework of company policy so that quality, productivity, efficiency, and safety objectives for this position are achieved.
As assigned, perform duties and develop skills that are not part of this position's daily responsibilities to provide versatility in order to meet fluctuating demands for various types of work.
Display a spirit of cooperation with co-workers and a willingness to accept direction from the supervisor.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
