Information Security Analyst utilizes their business acumen and strong information security technical experience to partner and ensure a secure information environment for the business. This role is responsible for continuously protecting our critical information assets and brand name, assuring compliance with corporate and regulatory policies/standards & industry best practices, while simplifying, enhancing and enabling business initiatives.
Information Security Analyst are responsible for providing technical guidance focused on information security architecture, including all security R&D;, analysis and design for all corporate computing systems to prevent unauthorized access from both internal and external perspectives. They are considered to be a SME (Subject Matter Expert) in one or more of the information security disciplines supporting the design, implementation and management of the organizations information security architecture.

Responsibilities:
This position manages information security assessments, maintains information security policies & procedures, reports on security practices, leads security design & architect meetings, and reports on security activities to management teams. In addition, they may provide oversight in the following areas:
Responsible for providing consultative services focused on information security standards and procedures. Ensure that all layers of the infrastructure security are integrated into the corporate infrastructure (application & network) environments in a secure fashion.
Conduct security risk assessments on all computing systems, components, and applications, both new and current, utilizing the appropriate security diagnostic tools and services. Identify security deficiencies and instigate appropriate corrective action, and report on findings.
Enforces security policies and procedures by administering and monitoring security profiles, reviews security violation reports and investigates possible security exceptions, updates, and maintains and documents security controls.
Stay current with information security trends and provide threat intelligence in the areas of intrusion techniques, social engineering, technology and security solutions by researching security resources. Advise management on applicable trends and recommended solutions. Serve as subject matter expert (SME) for designated information security controls.
Develop, plan and perform configuration changes for our major security infrastructure platforms, including but not limited to, UNIX, Windows, LAN/WAN, firewalls, remote access servers, IPS/IDS, and vulnerability assessments for both virtual and physical environments.
Lead and execute Information Security projects. Develop, execute on and communicate project tasks, timelines, and status information in accordance with our project management policies and practices.
Access, analyze and document security requirements for all information systems, which may include applications, 3rd party providers, servers, wireless, telecom, LAN/WAN, databases and personal computers.
Perform collaborative problem determination activities on overall security network and application infrastructure consisting of software, code, firewalls and other devices (such as IPS/IDS sensors, load balancers, routers and switches). Provide expertise on integration of security technologies (such as IPS/IDS, HIDS, Firewalls, AV, security logs)
Assist in the development and continual enhancement of our Information Security programs, used to maintain security of our Information Systems. Develop and maintain the documentation for Information Security Policies, Procedures, and Standards.
Assist in monitoring the compliance of the corporate Information Security policy. Monitor protection levels and security related events. Perform security auditing and work with management to address detected security issues.
Provide security related on-call emergency support, which is defined by the team's operational procedures. Participate as a member of the Security Incident Response Team, acting as a security first responder.
Ensure proper protection and use of software, including virus protection inspection, monitoring, and reporting.
Provide administration of security access to network account and identify management systems by creating, issuing, and monitoring user profiles, passwords, user security groups, Active Direction, LDAP, and any other system usage accounts and access codes. Ensure proper authority, review, monitoring, and reporting of those approving access to information resources.
Qualifications

Qualifications:
Associate/Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems/Information Security certification or equivalent experience.
Recognized security professional certification (CISSP, CISA, CISM, or GIAC).
Experience in Unix/Linux and/or Splunk preferred.
3-5 years' experience generally gained in the information security field, with at least three years of security oversight and management experience.

This is an on-site position located at Capella's downtown Minneapolis headquarters. It requires the ability to work in downtown Minneapolis and in a high-rise corporate office setting. Typical of a corporate office setting, Capella's office space:
is designed with an open work space setting and common fluorescent lighting
includes frequent co-worker interaction and corresponding noise levels
is subject to inside environmental conditions
Sedentary work:
this role is mainly a sedentary role with frequent sitting and occasional walking and/or standing.
this role involves frequent usage of a telephone, PC and standard monitors.
this role has minimal lifting requirements, may require exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
Requires minimal (0-10 percent) business travel:
may occasionally require travel to on-site Capella events such as Commencement or off-site Capella University leadership meetings as requested and based on business needs. All travel must be pre-approved and arrangements made according to Capella's policies/procedures.
Workhours:
the University's general office hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CST. Work hours and starting times may vary depending on the job and the business needs. Some positions will have a specified starting time, and may be earlier or later, depending upon business requirements.
the normally scheduled workweek for all full-time employees consists of 40-45 hours.
