Nationally ranked commercial contracting firm base in the Rockville area seeks experienced Project Accountant to take on challenging accounting role. This position will oversee a broad range of responsibilities across development projects including job cost, general ledger and subcontractor accounts payable. Principal Job
Responsibilities:
Enter all change orders, back charges, subcontracts, award analysis, and projected adjustments into the Timberline system.
Prepare & distribute all monthly job cost reports to the Project Managers and Project Executives.
Prepare the close out package for all completed jobs in Timberline.
Prepare and enter direct cost entries, as needed, into Timberline.
Enter and analyze monthly owner requisitions (accounts receivable, retainage receivable and contract revenue) into Timberline.
Enter job-related and miscellaneous cash receipts into Timberline.
Primarily responsible for the processing and maintenance of accounts payable function to subcontractors.
Enter all subcontractor pay vouchers into Timberline and e-file using Document Management.
Enter journal entries and reconcile the various companies' bank accounts.
Train project managers on how to read and use job cost reports, train on the usage of Timberline and preparation of accounting forms.

Position
Qualifications:
BS-Accounting preferred or commensurate construction accounting experience
3
years job cost, general ledger and accounts receivable experience
2
years Timberline software experience
Must have good MS-Excel and MS-Word experience


Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
