Summary:
The Shipping/Receiving Clerk performs clerical and physical tasks in connection with shipping goods. Duties typically involve verifying orders are accurately filled by comparing items and quantities of goods gathered for shipment against documents; insuring that shipments are properly packaged, identified with shipping information, and loaded into transporting vehicles, and preparing and keeping records of goods shipped, e.g., manifests, bills of lading. Receiving duties typically involve the following: verifying the correctness of incoming shipments by comparing items and quantities unloaded against bills of lading, invoices, manifests, storage receipts, or other records, checking for damaged goods, insuring that goods are appropriately identified for routing to departments within the establishment, and preparing and keeping records of goods received.

Responsibilities:
? Receive and count stock items, and record data manually or using computer.
? Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards.
? Examine shipment contents and compare with records such as manifests, invoices, or orders to verify accuracy.
? Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping orders, to route materials.
? Confer with customers to rectify problems, such as damages, or shortages as required.
? Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock, and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.
? Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas.
? Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.
? Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas in order to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
? Determine proper storage and shipment methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities.
? Keep records on the use and/or damage of stock or stock handling equipment.
? Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.
Preferred
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
? Highly skilled with applicable STAMIS and comprehensive knowledge of supply regulations and policies and the ability to manage multiple hand receipts and hand receipt holders.
? Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
? Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (primarily Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point) and data/web-based systems.
? Ability to monitor/assess performance of self, other individuals and organizations to make improvements or task corrective action.
? Ability to define work performance standards and define and apply metrics to measure quality performance against established quality standards.
? Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
? Ability to identify problems or potential problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
? Ability to quickly respond to Government-identified problems or potential problems
Additional Position Information:
High School diploma with Two (2) years of warehouse operations experience.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
