We are responsible for developing technical solutions and applications that are used by Asurion's partners, including top-tier retailers, communication providers, and entertainment distributors. We have an immediate opening for a Software Engineer 3 (Lead) to play a key role in supporting the development of a fast, scalable and robust platform for a suite of web and mobile applications supporting our core business. Duties/
Responsibilities:
o This position has the skill set of the Sr. Developer position below
o This position has experience performing in a lead role working along side and supporting teams of 3-4 developers
o This position has experience working with remote developers in different time zones
o Ideally this person has recent relevant experience with web development using Scala and/or Java based MVC
o Ideally this person has recent relevant experience with mobile application development, native or otherwise
Qualifications:
The successful candidate:
o Is passionate about learning new technologies and applying them to the development of first rate software
o Is knowledgeable with standard Java and/or Scala web technologies (Servlets, JSP, Servlet containers such as Tomcat, C#, ) and understand how web application are packaged, built and deployed
o Has experience with MVC
o Has a deep knowledge of OO design principles and be able to apply them to creating efficient, flexible solutions to difficult problems.
o Provides a strong knowledge of modern web/mobile site development techniques
o Has solid communication skills, including the ability to write technical documentation.
o A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field is required
