Job Description:
Pediatric Critical Care Dietitian should have knowledge in a complex area of clinical dietetics and treatment of acutely ill pediatric and cardiac intensive care patients. Candidate should have experience of an advanced level of clinical nutrition practice related to the overall treatment of acutely ill patients. RD is responsible for collaborating with members of the health care team and participating in daily rounds to provide pediatric and cardiac intensive care patients medical nutrition therapy (MNT). Nutrition interventions will include oral diets, tube and intravenous feedings. RD will perform nutrition assessment, diagnose nutrition-related problems, determine and implement appropriate interventions, and monitor and evaluate outcomes utilizing the Nutrition Care Process. Dietitian provides education to patients, caregivers, and family members. RD will also provide education to hospital staff and clinical nutrition students as well as contribute to the educational and professional development of other dietitians as needed.
Experience Requirements:
Must be credentialed as a Registered Dietitian (RD) by the Committee on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
Licensed in Pennsylvania or be eligible to be licensed by the state of Pennsylvania required
Minimum 2 years of related experience with a minimum of 1 year of work in an acute intensive care nutrition setting required
Knowledge and application of medical nutrition therapy in pediatric patients.
CNSC certification required or achieved within 6 months from date of hire
CSP certification highly desiredEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
