POSITION
Summary:
The primary responsibilities of the Director of Clinical Operations - Valesco includes full engagement and participation in clinical initiatives assigned by national leadership. This job involves developing educational programs, monitoring clinical operations activities and designing/implementing action plans to ensure the programs meets the objectives related to delivery of high quality clinical care. The reporting responsibilities include tracking and trending of operational and clinical data. The designing of action plans will emerge from an analysis of this data and collaboration with the operations team to coordinate implementation.
_Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:_
The overall operational responsibility for the clinical functions of the assigned facilities to ensure optimal clinical performance through tracking and analysis of data and partnership with operations team.
Coordinates administrative and quality data analysis for assigned facilities.
Directs and manages clinical projects such as:
Monitors patient flow through the program(s) to ensure appropriate utilization of clinical resources.
Reviews clinical practice patterns for operational efficiency and standardization. Conducts spot audits to ensure compliance with established clinical practice policies and procedures.
Provides physician and staff training as required for clinical operations issues, including but not limited to quality programming, clinical education, and throughput management.
Initiates programs to respond to referring physician and patient satisfaction concerns related to clinical operations.
Monitors and manages quality programs in compliance with The Joint Commission and other regulatory and facility assigned standards and policies. This will include facilitation of quarterly quality reviews and providing for problem resolutions.
Participates in the development and implementation of practice standards and clinical guidelines as needed; ensures that protocols, algorithms, and order sets are evidence-based.
Partners with the Director of Quality on the HCA Physician Services to ensure that the quality standards of programs and policies are achieved.
Audits and evaluates programs to ensure they are in compliance with clinical guidelines.
Serves as a clinical operations resource for all hospital-based provider programs within the joint venture.
Develops and oversees implementation and administration of internal program policies and procedures in conjunction with HCA Physician Services standard policies and procedures.
Interprets applicable laws, rules and regulations and ensures the program is in compliance with them.
Attend required meetings with emergency department leadership, hospital medicine leadership, anesthesia leadership, radiology leadership and joint venture partner leadership.
Participation in the HCA risk premium credit program.
Develops and maintains effective communications between all levels of personnel.
Ensures compliance with and knowledge of the company's policies and procedures by all subordinates to ensure an ethical work environment.
Mentor employees, conduct performance evaluations, counsel and provide disciplinary actions to assigned personnel, and works to facilitate individual and team development that drives positive results.

_Minimum
Qualifications:_
Education/Licensing/Certification:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration is required.
Master's Degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration is preferred.

Experience:
Minimum of 5 years experience in an administrative and management role
Managing employees in remote locations is required.
Minimum of 5 years nursing experience required.
Minimum of 3 years in a hospital clinical administrative role required.
Hospitalist program management or Case/Quality Management experience preferred.
Effective working knowledge of healthcare systems management for clinical operations.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
