American Appraisal, an employee-owned global firm and the world leader in valuation and advisory services, currently has an excellent opportunity for a Report Editor with its Report Services Group.
Edit complex valuation-related reports in accordance with the firm's standards and legal requirements, aiming for overall consistency and logical report organization, and applying a thorough knowledge of correct grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure. Work closely with valuation professionals and other report services staff to ensure quality, accuracy, and timely delivery of reports to clients. This position may require overtime.
Bachelor's degree, preferably in English, Communications, Journalism, or a related field
Minimum of four years' editing experience in a business environment, with technical editing experience and familiarity with _The Chicago Manual of Style_ as pluses
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; reputation for being accurate and attentive to details
Comprehension of basic math concepts
Proficiency in current MS Office and Adobe Acrobat applications
Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Demonstrated people skills; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others, at all levels
Ability to succeed in a team-oriented, cooperative setting

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
