Under administrative direction, independently administers all aspects of an agency's financial management program or a large, complex free standing accounting system; analyzes and interprets financial data and consults with agency administrators regarding agency financial matters; may supervise professional accounting staff or lead other staff in the completion of professional and technical accounting work.
Examples of Work:
Perform complex journal entries for grant reconcilements. Must use Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) as well as grant management Rules and Regulations to create and complete the journal entries. Post data to ledgers, journals, databases and/or worksheets to establish and maintain records of all financial transactions. Perform projects to extract, organize and analyze financial data from General Ledger to assist both finance and program management. Responsible for the tracking of all grants within area of accountability including setup/monitoring and grant closure. Authorize the transfer of expenses into and out of grant-related accounts. Investigate grant variances and submit variance reports to management. Create and submit government reports related to grants. Assist Controller in ensuring departments must establish and maintain record keeping procedures and systems to capture all financial and statistical data necessary for internal control and for the development and maintenance of financial models. Accountable for monitoring the progress of projects, investigating variances, approving expenses, and ensuring that project billings are issued and payments collected. Reconciles account discrepancies, communicates to Controller and independently prepares resolutions to correct discrepancies performing account adjustments and post into correct business unit and object code as needed.
Hours: 8-5, Monday - Friday.
Qualifications / Requirements:
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, statistics, business administration or related field OR Associates degree in accounting, finance, statistics, business administration or related field and two years' experience with professional accounting procedures OR four years' experience with professional accounting procedures including developing public accounting systems, modifying public accounting systems, and financial management consultation.
PREFER: MBA or CPA with Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field. Five plus years in accounting/finance Field. Experience with government or fund accounting. NDOL accounting experience preferred. The successful applicant will undergo a background/criminal records check. A job offer will not be extended until the results of the background check has been received. A history of criminal activity and/or certain convictions may eliminate a candidate from consideration.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Candidates must have outstanding attention to detail and ability to analyze and interpret financial data. Must have experience with Excel.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
