## Job Description
JOB PURPOSE:
This development and public affairs position is responsible for growing business related revenues and overseeing public affairs activities in North Dakota (ND). Public affairs are defined to include economic development initiatives and media and community relations activities for all of North Dakota. In addition, while working with the Director of Sales, this position will provide in-state support for enterprise account relationships as needed.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for developing ND business relationships and sales.
Promote and advance the interests of the company in state of ND.
Direct Regional Sales Managers, ensuring business sales teams increase revenue and client base while promoting retention and optimal client satisfaction.
Direct, develop and implement long range strategies, goals, and action plans to meet defined business objectives and goals (monthly/quarterly/annually).
Develop and execute successful customer acquisition strategies for business sales.
Achieve defined goals and steady revenue growth through individual and team efforts by translating strategies into actions plans and procedures.
Continually evaluate developments in the industry and keep abreast of changes and emerging trends in ND new and existing service areas.
Continually evaluate developments and trends related to the company's image and desired external messages.
Cultivate and maintain relationships with resources and relevant sectors to ensure the company's and industries desired identity is accurately and fully portrayed.
Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with those who have the greatest risk / potential of creating material impact on company's operations and performance.
Ensure the company's views on business related issues are advocated, well-articulated, justified and understood.
Identify, evaluate and recommend ND alliances and development of new partnerships to support the company's strategic and product goals and competitive position.
Accountable for results in new revenue streams that affect major aspects of company performance.
Participate in the budget process by defining department budgets, pricing, strategies, and objectives.
Monitor quality of performance, determine and apply appropriate and effective benchmarks and other methods of measurement.
Provide timely performance feedback and daily coaching. Perform annual reviews and effectively manage disciplinary and/or performance problems.
Be willing and able to travel in accordance with Midcontinent's Use of Vehicle for Company Business policy.
Communicate effectively and professionally in all forms of communication with internal and external customers.
Adhere to Midcontinent Communications privacy guidelines to ensure each customer's privacy.
Maintain regular attendance to be available to provide direction and communication to team members.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree required. Focus in Business Management or Administration, Public Policy or relevant field preferred.
Minimum of ten years of management experience.
Minimum of ten years experience in the telecommunications or information technology related industry required with a proven track record to consistently meet or exceed corporate goals.
