Employment is with the Research Foundation for SUNY, a private, nonprofit, educational corporation that administers sponsored program activity for the SUNY College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering. Description of Duties: The Payroll Specialist position supports the administration of Payroll college-wide under the Office of Human Resources for the SUNY College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering (CNSE). Duties will include but are not limited to: analyzing and imputing data from payroll forms to the RF business system which includes, Oracle, Time Keeper, generate and compare payroll reports to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies, communicate with administrators and employees on all payroll related issues, provide customer service to all CNSE staff on payroll related transactions, review of time and attendance accruals by utilizing the hourly time reporting system, process time sheet calculations and shift differentials to insure payroll is processed accurately and all payments are documented accordingly, provide guidance to payroll clerk to batch a complete payroll with minimal to no errors, work with supervisor to implement more efficient processes for payroll processing. Qualifications: A high school diploma and minimum of three years recent professional experience in payroll; thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel; demonstrated customer service, problem resolution, and time management skills; ability to pay close attention to detail and maintain confidential information and demonstrated experience with computer based payroll systems. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
