The Staff Accountant, Payroll will provide the Finance department with accurate payroll postings, supply information as needed and maintain the accuracy of payroll.
Reconcile Payroll general ledger accounts
Plan and verify accuracy of payroll for year end W2's
Work with Finance to verify variances between budget and actual payroll
Work with Treasury to fund payroll bank accounts
Update employee records for taxable fringe benefit information
Assist payroll specialist with tax and accounting questions
Tax system update testing and implementation
Other ad hoc activity as assigned
Make corrections to invalid payroll postings
4 Year College degree in Accounting or related field
Knowledge of generally accepted principles,practices and laws related to payroll, taxes and benefits
Certified Payroll Professional preferred
Experience with Oracle preferred
Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Power Point, and Excel required
Microsoft Access preferred
Ability to learn new software analytical tools (i.e. Hyperion, E-Search & View, Monarch, Lawson, Query)
