Van Eerden Foodservice is looking to fill 2 DOT compliant, CDL-A Driver positions in Cadillac.
We are looking to fill a full-time Route Delivery position and a Shuttle Delivery driver - both operating out of Cadillac.
Delivery route drivers
will deliver a variety of food service products to multiple customer locations utilizing tractor-trailers, technology, other delivery tools and possess a very professional attitude ensuring that SERVICE FIRST is your utmost priority. This is a VERY PHYSICALLY DEMANDING job, and will work year round, including Sundays and Holidays, and enjoy interfacing with customers (restaurants).
Shuttle Drivers
primary role is moving trailers from our main distribution facility to drop yard locations in various areas of our market and pull equipment back on your return trip. These shuttles may also originate from a drop yard location and run in reverse. You may, on occasion, make customer deliveries and vendor pickups. Shuttle drivers that domicile near a drop yard location (aka Resident Drivers) will more than likely be required to cover delivery routes when route drivers are off.
Driver positions with Van Eerden utilize tractor-trailers, technology, other delivery tools and a very professional attitude ensuring that Service First is your utmost priority. Drivers represent Van Eerden Food Service in all activities with customers, both internal and external.
Duties and Responsibilities
:
Must present a professional appearance at all times. Able to communicate well with customers, drivers, dispatcher and manager, both orally and in writing
Meet all DOT requirements for driver including possession of a valid CDL, Class A license with doubles endorsement, accurate recordkeeping of all DOT/CDL violations and notifications
Pass DOT physical and drug screen. Will be subject to DOT random requirements
Accurately use Xata onboard computer and GPS system for tracking, tracing and DOT log requirements
Use handheld device for RF scanning of all deliveries
Complete all paperwork in a neat and accurate manner including but not limited to logs, invoices, credits, deposits, trip reports, route feedback, etc.
Physically capable of repetitive bending, lifting and twisting with cartons of up to 60 lbs, occasionally up to 100 lbs. This position carries a D.O.L. designation of Very Heavy for physical and functional strength.
You must pass a pre-employment CRT physical exam to confirm you are capable to perform the duties required by this position.
Deliver product off trailer and down ramp with two-wheeler in all types of weather conditions
Work Schedules which may include varied start times, overnight, weekends, weekdays, and on-call rotation
Ability to work 16 hour shift as necessary
Ability to navigate with written instructions and maps to customer locations
Follow all company polices and procedures, including safe work habits, punctual attendance.
Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor

This is a job that requires EXCELLENT DOT/CDL driving experience, Very Heavy physical capability and Customer service skills.

Requirements:
Education / Experience
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent (higher level education a plus). Candidates should have at least one (1) year verifiable tractor / trailer driving experience preferably in a foodservice delivery route environment. Strong customer service skills required. Good verbal and written communication skills are a must. Must read/write/speak English effectively to be able to communicate effectively with customers.

Specific Requirements: You must possess a private drivers license, undergo drug screening, pass an employment test, pass a physical examination and undergo a reference or security check. You must have a commercial drivers license with double and triple trailer endorsements and without other restrictions or air brake.
