Job Description
Position, requires working to repair and maintain transportation equipment to be used safely and efficiently to move product according to schedule.
Maintain equipment to desired performance levels; repsonsible to perform preventative maintenance on trucks, trailers and reefer units, make light structural and cosmetic repairs to trailers and power units.
May complete general truck and trailer repairs under direction of an experienced fleet mechanic or supervisor.
o Complete work orders in a timely manner maintaining high quality standards
o Keep management informed of safety, operator and equipment observations and concerns
o Maintain accurate and complete records, document all work performed appropriately
o Maintain a clean and safe work area.
o Use all personal protective equipment provided by the company in compliance with OSHA regulations.
o Adhere to food safety and quality system requirements by committing to meet all pertinent regulatory, customer and SQF requirements and report any deficiencies.
o Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
o Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
o Learn and adhere to sanitation, safety and security policies and procedures.
o Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required; CDL class A is a Plus.
Must possess own tools.
Experience with commercial truck repair in manufacturing environment preferred.
Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, bend, reach, crawl required for virtually the entire shift.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist others when lifting is required.
Must be able to work in a dusty, greasy environment with moderate noise.
Overtime and working on holidays may be required.
Be able to effectively work in a team environment.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
Must be available to be on call approximately every 4th weekend.
Must be able to pass all medical exams, drug and background checks (including criminal).Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
