Our Delivery Associates work with a delivery partner and together they''re responsible for providing our customers with an exceptional in-home delivery experience. They are brand ambassadors and take pride in leaving a lasting and positive impression with Room & Board''s customers. Many of our customers make their purchase on our website, therefore our Delivery Associates may be the first personal interaction a customer has with Room & Board.
They engage customers and share information about the product, furniture placement and the care and maintenance of their purchase. They build strong relationships with their retail partners so they can seamlessly resolve any issues to ensure the customer is completely satisfied. Our Delivery Associates drive new, 24-foot box trucks and use cell phone and GPS technology.
To be successful in this role Delivery Associates must enjoy engaging customers, balance independence with sharing their day with a partner, have a professional demeanor and be an exceptional problem-solver. Many of our Delivery Associates come to us with an interest in furniture design. Others do not, but quickly find they enjoy working with beautiful, handcrafted furniture.
Our Delivery Associates are paid a guaranteed salary and earn overtime to ensure they are rewarded in a manner that is consistent with the professional expectations of this role.
Delivering furniture to the homes of our customers is physically demanding and Delivery Associates must be able to lift a maximum of 65 pounds to successfully perform this role. Therefore, a pre-employment physical is necessary. A Department of Transportation drug screen and safe driving record are also necessary. Our Delivery Associates work a Tuesday through Saturday schedule.
