Quality Supervisor
A dynamic company in Frankfort, Indiana is in search of a Quality Supervisor for an evening split shift (6:00pm-3:00am). NTK Precision Axle Corporation is a leading manufacturer of constant velocity joints/shafts and hub bearing assemblies serving a diverse group of customers in the automotive industry. Manufacturing operations involve CNC turning and induction heat-treatment processes. We are seeking a motivated individual who wants to take an active role in the continuous growth of our company.
Summary of Essential Job Functions:
Responsibilities include supervising quality department employees engaged in quality inspection, testing, reporting and adherence to QMS. This position includes leading, facilitating and coordinating the work activities and resources per company practices and policies to ensure a safe work environment, quality products, and on-time delivery. This will include improving quality based processes and methods for technical involvement, quality improvement and manufacturing efficiencies. Position will be required to analyze quality data reports so as to identify areas for improvements, including training of inspectors, completion of corrective actions, and quality process improvement recommendations. In addition, this position ensures that facilities and processes conform to TS16949 standards by managing Quality Systems and documents. Position will provide communications through management reviews, department meetings and one-on-one interactions.
Job Specifications:
Promotes a quality culture by demonstrating customer focus and regularly communicating customer feedback to employees in order to facilitate problem solving, drive continuous quality improvement and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Assists in the development, updating and maintaining of procedures and documents for the TS 16949 QA system including methods, work instructions, and paperwork.
Monitor quality issues related to the QA system and provide input and suggestions to assist in producing a quality product.
Assists in audit finding resolutions both internally and externally.
Review of product/process issues throughout the previous day and current including:
Review of System Assurance startup/In process check sheets
Review of SA/QA log book
Review photos of current running product
Review of scrap and work center reports of previous day in order to prepare for DOS
Monitor All In-Process Quality and System Audit
Monitor Final/Dock Audits
Write/distribute Nonconforming Product Notices (as needed)
Maintain all Gages
Review troubleshoot process/product problems
Maintain and review all Lab Testing
Monitor Line accumulations
Edit process and quality documentation as needed
Maintain all Systems/Quality CQS/Control Plan book
Qualifications:
This position prefers a Bachelors of Science degree in Supervision, Organizational Leadership, or equivalent. It does require 5-8 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience that has resulted in progressive advancement within an organization. Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is required with related automotive experience preferred. Knowledge of manufacturing processes (heat treatment/ turning) is a plus. Demonstrated technical understanding of current quality methods, OSHA requirements and cost reduction principles required. Position requires excellent computer skills, strong verbal/written communication skills, analytical and problem solving skills, ability to organize and set priorities. Position also requires demonstrated leadership skills, conflict management skills, ability to foster communication at all levels, ability to manage multiple projects, and ability to adapt to a multi-cultural environment. Must be able to meet deadlines and work under pressure. Must demonstrate a proven record of positive influence in: Safety, quality, scrap reduction and employee development. Willingness and ability to work extended hours during the week and on weekends and/or work other shifts as needed is essential.
