Ascension Information Services (AIS) is seeking to hire a PACS Administrator. The PACS Administrator performs a variety of professional duties which include the proper development, maintenance and management of the Radiology and Cardiology Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and/or RIS. Technical and clinical administrator will provide management and end user support for the applications of PACS/RIS. Manage day-to-day operation of PACS equipment; including image workflow, archiving, routing, pre-fetching, and correcting broken studies, editing patient demographics, and related HIS/RIS application. Performs database changes to include additions, corrections and testing to meet new business needs or as part of project initiatives.
Also, maintains other related applications such as Dolbey Fusion Voice Recognition and PenRad Mammography.
### QUALIFICATIONS
Required
Possesses expertise in PACS/RIS, tools and techniques
Works independently within technical /clinical area, applying in-depth knowledge of multiple technologies, as appropriate
Possess strong understanding of radiology and cardiology workflow and various modalities (e.g., CT/MR/NM/US/Diagnostic/Angio)
Possess intermediate computer knowledge. Technical skills in DICOM, HL-7, IHE, networks, MS Windows operating system
A balanced mix of clinical, technical, and interpersonal skills to effectively administer a complex system and deal with a broad range of issues
Ability to work well under pressure and on concurrent, multidisciplinary projects
Problem solving and troubleshooting skills and a firm commitment to quality.
Exhibit good communication skills (written and oral)
Must be able to work effectively with diverse groups of people
Available to cover On Call as needed
Desired
Previous clinical application vendor management experiences a plus
Experience with Merge products a plus

Bachelors Degree in related field
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to discuss technical concepts with non-technical users including physicians, hospital administrators and system users

### RESPONSIBILITIES
Support, Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution
Document and communicate specific issues identified by clinical users with respect to service issues, updates, progress and resolution
Escalate and be an advocate for customer support, issues and problems.
Disaster Preparedness, Failure Correction and Recover
Monitor backups and report any system or component failures to vendor
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly routine maintenance procedures as required.
Maintain backup/disaster recovery procedures
Management of downtime events
Training and Internal PACS Communications
Support application programmers and end-users groups and communicate any requests for moves, additions, and changes to the vendor system
Monitor clinical workflow procedures and make recommendations for improvement. Conduct system/component training
Serve as PACS liaison to other end-user departments
Conducts/coordinates on-going PACS system training initiatives
Daily Quality Control
QC exam list evaluation
Fix broken studies
Edit patient/exam demographics
Patient merges
Match exams to modality worklist
Problem Resolution Report
Investigate issues
Take steps to prevent similar issues in the future
RIS/PACS Data Integrity Strategy/ Study Exceptions Handling
Ensure that data in the PACS system correlates to RIS data
Investigate exceptions and why they occurred
Take steps to prevent further exceptions
Investigate why studies remain in unread status
Ensure all read studies are receiving structured reports
Archiving, routing and pre-fetching occurring in timely manner
Administrative Responsibilities
Assures all departmental, hospital, JCAHO, and HIPPA guidelines are met for operation
New modality or department initiatives
Enterprise communication of System Changes
Available to cover On Call as needed
