Mechanical Engineer

A world leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to research & investigate the design & performance of diesel engines in the Lafayette, IN area. This is a 1 year CONTRACT position, with the possibility of extension. Local candidates only, as there is no per diem available for this role.
Responsibilities for the Mechanical Engineer
As mentioned, research & investigate the design & performance of diesel engines
Perform computations in Excel
Read & interpret technical drawings, schematics and computer-generated reports
Requirements for the Mechanical Engineer
BS Degree in Engineering required
Engine-related systems experience
Experience with engine testing and engine controls is desirable
Graduates who have engine backgrounds, taken engine classes and are hands-on and mechanically oriented are preferred
