MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Masters degree in Laser Technology, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Electrical Communication Engineering or a related field and three years of experience in the job offered or a related position
DESCRIPTION: Act as an internal technical consultant and resource to bring projects in-house for laser production. Install, qualify, program, and optimize the performance of all new laser equipment. Optimize the configuration of the software and hardware involved in the drilling, cutting, marking, and surface patterning of Admedes medical components. Address technical problems and carry out functional repairs and adjustments to laser cutting machinery. Optimize the laser cutting process, particularly given the specifics of working with Nitinol materials. Improve upon Admedes existing laser cutting strategies, including micro-cutting, laser material processing, beam shaping and profiling, and use of vacuum apparatus and diffractive optics. Develop and execute Design of Experiments (DOE) on lasers. Train and instruct production personnel on the laser cutting process. Write, improve, and debug software programs for the laser cutting process. Supervise 2 employees, each with the title of Laser Technician.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
Experience building and optimizing lasers
Experience programming with CAGILA (or an equivalent CAM program) and Laser CNC stent cutters
Expertise with YAG lasers, lamp pump lasers, fiber lasers, and ultra-short pulsed femtosecond lasers
Expertise with laser optics, including beam expanders, wave plates, and homogenizers
Expertise with medical plastic cutting and marking and Nitinol devices
Experience working in an ISO-regulated environment
