The PatientandFamily Educator demonstrates clinical expertise in outpatient family education and psychosocial, academicand emotional support. The scope of patient and family education includes all phases of neurology care. Responsibilities include assisting with the coordination of the Patient and Family resource files. The Patient and Family Educator is a member of the multidisciplinary team and communicates and collaborates effectively with co-workers and staff withinBoston Children''sand other hospitals which partner with Boston Children''sin its patient care.
Any Neurology experience is preferred.
Bachelor's degree minimum.Masters Degree preferred.Preference to degrees within Social Work, Guidance Counseling, or Special Education.
Minimum one year recent professional experience with pediatric patients and families.
Requires critical thinking, an excellent ability to collaborate and strong communication skills.
Knowledge and skills of using and utilizing resources in the community for patients and families.
Demonstrated ability to work as an effective member of an interdisciplinary team.
Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to make independent decisions.
Demonstrated ability to establish rapport with patients and families from a variety of cultural, ethnic and religious backgrounds
Sufficient working knowledge of computer systems, including Microsoft Word and Internet searches.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
