The HBPC Medical Director at the Veterans Health Care Systems of the Ozarks (VHSO) in the Primary Care Service must be a physician who is responsible for the overall medical care delivered by the Home Based Primary Care team. NOTE: In facilities with academic affiliations, the HBPC Medical Director is encouraged to have a faculty appointment and be involved in academic activities. The HBPC Medical Director is responsible for:
a. Collaborating with the HBPC Program Director to:
(1) Provide leadership to the HBPC Program.
(2) Plan and direct the educational and clinical experience of medical students, residents, and fellows assigned to the HBPC Program.
(3) Assume a leadership role in the development and implementation of HBPC''s performance improvement plan.
(4) Advocate for HBPC with VHA leadership and the medical community.
(5) Jointly select HBPC team members.
b. Providing clinical input and oversight for all patient treatment plans.
c. Being readily available to the team members for collaboration when medical or other problems arise.
d. Participating in HBPC team meetings.
e. Keeping the HBPC team apprised of medical care advances and practice standards.
f. Arranging physician coverage and communicating the plan of coverage to the HBPC team.
g. Serving as back-up for other HBPC team physicians seeing patients independently and with team memebrs.
h. Collaborating with other HBPC Medical Directors, VISN leadership, and VA Central Office staff on program development issues.
TOUR OF DUTY: Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The work is usually sedentary, but it requires periods of walking, standing, bending, or climbing and employee may carry light items such as books, instruments, lap tops and other similar materials.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
Citizenship: Citizen of the United States.
Education: Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Approved schools are:
(1) Schools of medicine holding regular institutional membership in the Association of American Medical Colleges for the year in which the degree was granted.
(2) Schools of osteopathic medicine approved by the American Osteopathic Association for the year in which the degree was granted.
(3) Schools (including foreign schools) accepted by the licensing body of a State, Territory, or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico), or in the District of Columbia as qualifying for full or unrestricted licensure.
(4) For residents, graduation from an approved medical school as described above is required. Licensure and Registration: Physicians must have a current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
Physical Standards: Applicants must successfully complete a pre-employment physical, including the possibility of a drug screen.
English Language Proficiency: Physicians, including residents, appointed to direct patient-care positions must be proficient in spoken and written English as required by 38 U.S.C. 7402(d) and 7407(d).
Preferred
Experience: Board Certification in Family Medicine/Internal Medicine, Geriatic Medicine, Palliative Care, with additional certification or Fellowship trqaining in Geriatric Medicine or Palliative Care. Previous experience working within a team based collaborative care model and/or home based care model and the ability to use CPRS is desired.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
