Current Need
The Sales Training and Development Specialist will consult with the sales and marketing organizations to design, develop and deliver/facilitate training to meet the customized needs of the McKesson Pharmacy Systems & Automation organization.
Position Description
Responsible for conducting supervisory, management or non-technical skills training courses for internal staff. Interfaces with functional organizations to develop specifications for content of courses. Prepares lesson plans including the method, media and documentation to be presented. Instructs participants in classroom lectures and/or group sessions. Conducts follow up to determine applicability of course material.
Key
Responsibilities:
Partners and consults with assigned areas of the Sales organization to create and execute strategic training plans.
Conducts and/or facilitates sessions to meet these goals. Sessions will include but may not be limited to: Sales Skills training, Sales New Hire Orientation, McKesson product/solution training, Sales Boot Camp, presentation skills training, sales process and/or methodology training, and facilitation of workgroups.
Utilizes appropriate tools, metrics and reporting to benchmark the value of training activities.
Works under leadership of Director, Marketing and Sales Management to ensure training and development activities occurring for assigned teams align with the overall goals of the business.
Works with other groups such as Marketing, Sales Support Groups, HR, etc. to create internal marketing messaging and ongoing communications to sales teams.
Works with Marketing and the Meeting & Events Team to execute customer facing executive events.
Supports National Sales Meeting through facilitation, organization, planning, and content delivery.
Requires approximately 25% travel to deliver and facilitate regional training sessions and meetings
Minimum Requirements
5
years human resources or training experience
Critical Skills
5
years experience in one or more of the following areas: Sales, Marketing, Training (Sales Development or Product Training)
Strong Writing background is essential
Experience writing Sales Collateral and Sales Tool Kits
Experience developing programs incorporating adult education principles and experiential learning techniques
Course development and curriculum development experience
Ability to prepare and deliver professional/executive level presentations
Excellent communication skills (written, face-to-face, formal presentations)
Confident Executive Presence
Significant experience with consulting/needs assessments, multi-tasking and project management/coordination
Experience and comfortable working in a fast paced environment
Ability to work independently more than 75% of the time
Proficient in standard software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Additional Knowledge & Skills
Experience in preparing standardized training curriculum using instructional design methodologies preferred
Preferred: Member of American Society of Training and Development (ASTD)
Bachelors in Instructional Design preferred
