As a Principal Front-End Software engineer at Asurion, here's what you can expect to do:

Mentor and evangelize Agile, Lean, and Continuous Development coding best practices
Collaborate with the usability and design teams to define prototypes of dynamic web pages and JavaScript components
Implement page designs in standards-compliant, dynamic HTML, CSS and JavaScript
Integrate functionality with the app, using JavaScript, AJAX and Java/JSP
Work closely with Java back-end developers
Write automated functional tests for web pages
Share your skills and experience with more junior engineers
Organizes own workload and works closely with the Director to ensure other resource's workload is clearly defined and coordinated to meet deliverable timelines
Ensures the Sr. Director is informed of schedules and timelines, statuses, issues, mitigations and all other information necessary or requested Here's what you'll bring to the team:
At least 6 years (10 years is preferred) of experience building modern web applications
3-6 years software development, system architecture, and/or system administration
Experience leading project teams, and a track record of delivering successful releases on time
A passion for keeping the front-end lean and fast, while ensuring that all features are a pleasure to use
Extensive knowledge and experience in hand-coding efficient, well-structured HTML, JavaScript and CSS.
The ability to write any component in vanilla JavaScript, but the intelligence to leverage existing libraries when it makes sense
Good understanding of JavaScript libraries (e.g. jQuery, Backbone, RequireJS, AngularJS, Bootstrap)
Superior communication skills, and the ability to exhibit a commanding presence when necessary
Our backend is written largely in Java, and willingness to pitch in on the back-end to help fix small bugs or push features forward is always appreciated
An expert understanding of Agile best practices and tools
Experience with Lean techniques is a big plus
A relaxed yet enthusiastic attitude
