Description/Job Summary
SUMMARY
Perform full scope of duties within beverage company sales department. Fills in for vacancies in sales department positions that include Presale, On-Premise and Conventional Route Departments by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Promotes and cultivates good customer relationships through professional, courteous, and quality service.
Quotes prices and credit terms and coordinates sales contracts for orders obtained.
Collects money from vendors and balances truck inventory and cash collected.
Drives truck to deliver beverage product to customer''s place of business in highway, rural and city street conditions in compliance with federal and state regulations.
Records sales, delivery and variance information on daily sales or delivery record.
Operates computerized inventory and invoicing system.
Operates hand trucks and electric pallet jacks.
Issues or obtains customer signature on receipt for pickup or delivery.
Travels through assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders and new business, prepare sales contracts and interfaces with customers on location or by phone.
Transfers product from customer stock room to floor displays in order to comply with Sell By dates, maximize product in store and minimize product in stock room.
Effectively organizes own product in customer''s stockroom.
Constructs or assembles display aids from company provided Point of Sale (POS) materials.
Estimates and coordinates pickup of pallets, shells and other returns for pick up at customer location.
Arranges products according to prearranged plan or own ideas approved by management.
Places price and descriptive signs on backdrop, fixtures, merchandise, or floor in compliance with suggestions and schedules of Home Market Manager and Sales Manager.
Orders product for assigned accounts in accordance with established procedures to ensure no out of stocks conditions.
Cleans inside of truck. Performs daily inspection and routine fluid, air and oil maintenance on truck.
Wear company provided uniform and present professional and well groomed appearance to customers and market place.
Other duties may be assigned by the immediate supervisor or other supervisor at any time.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Periodically has temporary supervisor responsibility for up to three non-supervisor employees in the Sales Departments. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization''s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees, assigning and directing work, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
None.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Ten key data entry.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Commercial Drivers License, Class A. Must meet company driver qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
