#### Primary Responsibilities

Responsible to interact with customers and other departments to Define / design test plans
Work with technicians and other support personnel to perform engine testing and data quality checks, analyses, interpreting and delivering data to customers
Responsible for high level consulting service to internal and external customers, including
Calibration of electronic controls
Exploration of new control strategies
Evaluation of component or system performance
Emissions speciation and test technology
Responsible to automate complex testing tasks, develop and improve test procedures, and use advanced instruments to meet testing objectives
Responsible to advocate for the customer and strive to ensure the test laboratory is producing high quality data, being well utilized to meet program goals
Provide high level consulting service to customers, including calibration of electronic controls, exploration of new control strategies, evaluation of component or system performance, and emissions speciation

Participate in the recruiting process of the Engine Testing Group
Participate in building business opportunities with key customers by providing superior service and technical expertise
Direct all aspects of engine testing projects
Leads test planning, execution, data quality, delivery, & analysis as well as results interpretation to guide experiments
Diagnoses and resolves engine and test cell equipment problems in a timely manner
Organizes technician activities and trains technicians to perform interactive experiments
Responsible for analyzing, developing, training, and monitoring common operations tasks and test procedures
Provides engineering services to customers, including control system calibration and development
Applies engineering principles and statistical methods routinely in project work
Responsible to build business opportunities with key customers by providing superior service and technical expertise
Work with customers to define test requirements and develop test plans
Work with technicians to maintain optimal test cell operation according to company and customer requirements
Configure test cell automation system, including channel set-up, calibration, programming of sequences, and set-up
Coordinate with facility and instrumentation engineers to ensure combustion air, engine cooling, fuelling, electrical, and emissions sampling subsystems are adequate for each project
Manages updates of internal procedures and develop new procedures as required
Quality check all test cell configurations, programming, and test data
Provide engineering support to customers, including data analysis, results interpretation, component troubleshooting, transient cycle evaluation, ECU flashing, and configuring ECU development tools (such as INCA or CANape)
Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
Regular, consistent and punctual attendance
Ability to work nights, weekends, and variable schedule(s) as necessary

#### Profile
M.S. Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred)
Minimum ten years relevant experience with expertise in vehicle or engine calibration and
testing technology
Experience supervising the daily tasks of technicians and engineers
Desire to work and live in Denver, CO area
#### Skills
High level of integrity, ethics, and drive towards customer service with strong poise, tact, and
diplomacy
Strong Leadership experience and abilities, comfortable in dealing with varied engineers'
personalities providing coaching, mentoring, support to those in his/her group as well as
thers in the organization
Ability to competently operate a engine test cell laboratory
Knowledgeable regarding Federal regulations for emissions testing
Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel
Proficient in Matlab or Visual Basic
Experience in engine calibration
Experience in engine performance or emissions testing (gasoline and diesel)
Understanding of Federal regulations for emissions testing (CFR 40 Parts 86 or 1065)
Ability to perform routine maintenance on and calibrate the laboratory equipment
Ability to approach problems in a scientific manner and implement resolutions with minimal
guidance
Ability to effectively communicate and articulate ideas, operational, and test quality issues to
engineers and managers
Participate in data quality review and troubleshooting
Strong orientation towards teamwork
Outstanding computer skills and computer programming skills
Strong Verbal & Written Communication skills
Desire to work in fast paced, rapidly changing and results' oriented environment
High ability to manage time to prioritize competing tasks and demands being able to
successfully resolve them
Expert knowledge of engine operation and controls for exhaust emissions (gasoline and
diesel)
Working knowledge of engine calibration software and hardware tools
Experience in engine calibration
Experience in engine performance or emissions testing (gasoline and diesel)
Understanding of Federal regulations for emissions testing (CFR 40 Parts 86 or 1065)
Proficient in MS Office
Proficient in Matlab or Visual Basic
