Position
Summary:
Supervise and facilitate arts and craft based activities with children during the summer at specific branch of the YMCA of Greater Boston.
Responsibilities:
Plans and teaches age and developmentally appropriate art and craft activities for day and resident campers.
Works closely with unit staff on planning and developing projects/activities.
Ensures all programs meet ACA guidelines and standards.
Develops art-related activities as needed for all camp events.
Correlates lesson plans with the theme for each camping program.
Is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in art area, to include keeping all areas free of hazards.
Maintains written inventory of art program supplies, and advises the director when they are running low.
Responsible for completing an end of season inventory and leaving program area clean, organized and ready for end of season shutdown. Responsible to pack all materials and supplies at end of season. Must make sure materials are properly stored.
Any other duties assigned by the Camp Director
Position Requirements Managerial experience in a camp setting
Applicant must be 18 years of age or older.
Must have experience planning lessons and teaching or implementing activities with children in age range from 5-15.
Physical Demands:
Physically able to perform all duties on the course and to actively assist participants in need.
