The Pulp & Paper division has a Full-time opportunity for a Process Technician in our Lenox, MA location.
The Process Technician will execute all production planning, materials planning, and buying activities necessary to satisfy all customer order requirements relevant to their respective product teams.
Additionally, this person will work with engineering department to determine casting to fabrication conversions, recommend alternative materials and procedures to replace customer's parts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Planning Work with Engineering, Project Manager and customer service to meet customer request.
Work with other team members to reduce worldwide product inventory and existing OSMI, as well as strive to eliminate the generation of new OSMI.
Build and inform customer service rep of sub-assemblies that will improve customer's quality of installation and recommend additional parts.
Build and cost sub-assemblies in item master data base.
Use estimating module to create estimates for customer returned goods.
Procurement Requisitioning of materials to satisfy order and planning requirements for complete machine, spare parts, and repair-rebuild demands.
Have parts quoted and manufactured of the best quality and cost Use different vendors to save money and keep a quality product with the best delivery date.
Expedite and inquire open purchase orders to be sure delivery dates are met.
Updating business system with the quote response in vendor master as needed.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Associates Degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Technical or machining background a plus.
Familiarity with the Order Fulfillment process.
Ability to understand and interpret engineering specifications as they relate to Process / Procurement efforts such as geometric dimensioning and tolerancing Possesses a strong working knowledge of production and inventory planning.
Computer literate and has an understanding of production tools, systems and documentation such as bills of material and MRP.
Possess good communication skills, written and verbal.
Individual should demonstrate the willingness to cross functional/position boundaries, as well as learn and accept responsibility for tasks typically associated with other team positions Please e-mail resume/cv to jobsma@glv.
