Detailed Job Description/ Responsibilities of the Director of Finance:

The Director of Finance will work closely with VP of Finance and staff to execute the functions listed below:


Overall annual Budget preparation and quarterly forecasts (P&L, balance sheet & supporting schedules)- including reviewing certain key areas prepared by staff and preparing P&L roll up and reviewing against comparable periods.

Quarterly and monthly closes - involves coordination with various shared service groups, review of staffs areas and overall compilation and review of P&L, balance sheet and supporting schedules. Complete understanding of the current accounting requirements for the completion of internal financial statements.

Bi-weekly quarter P&L flashes and regular frequent updating of certain key areas of P&L (new business, A&R, overhead, participation deals). This entails review of the key areas updated by staff, identification of significant variances, potential issues/ trends, and rolling up to a flash P&L for senior management and corporate reporting.


Specific responsibility for profit split deals. This includes review of statements prepared by shared services, forecasting and budgets by deal, timely management of information.

Specific responsibility for the following areas currently assigned to the VP of Finance Director


A&R spend tracking - This includes budget, forecasts, actuals and comparisons. Track costs, assess write-off expense, cash budget and upkeep of regular management and internal reports.

Artist Royalties - This includes budget, forecasts, actuals and comparisons. Full understanding of the artist contracts and underlying detail of the royalty system and reports, regular interaction with Royalty Dept.

New business areas (tour, merch, ticketing, etc) - This includes budget, forecasts, actuals and comparisons. Track & analyze revenue by channel and artist as well as costs. Regular meetings with new business specialists to understand revenue projections and cost performance. Upkeep of regular management and internal reports.


Specific responsibility for areas currently assigned to the manager:


Including overhead, licensing, manufacturing, and artist quarterly postmortems. This includes budget, forecasts, actuals and comparisons. Upkeep of regular management and internal reports. Heavy supervision and training for the manager.


Project and artist profitability analyses - includes a)preparation of some deal models ; and b) understanding certain existing joint venture and participation agreements and reviewing related statements prepared by shared accounting group.

Key involvement in maintaining sufficient control environment at Company - including compliance, approvals over purchases and payments, accounts payable interaction, maintain control/approval matrix.
Required Competencies/Skills of the Director of Finance:

Strong finance background with a minimum of seven years of experience (CPA desired but not required).

Strong analytical skills, very proficient in Access and Excel.

Experience with NetSuite preferred.

Public accounting background experience preferred.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
