Corning is seeking a process controls engineer to become part of the Applied Controls Engineers Solutions (ACES) corporate engineering team. ACES strive toward growth and development of new processes, optimization of existing processes, and utilization of modern process controls strategies to improve our manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities:
The specific job responsibility will be dependent upon the active project and may include but not be limited to:
Optimize or retrofit existing processes through modern control strategies such as optimal control, robust control, adaptive control, or model predictive control.
Industrialize research grade manufacturing systems for deployment and migration
Design process measurement and control systems strategies for manufacturing plants based on data collected in production, pilot plant operations, or laboratory experiments.
Implement, test, and troubleshoot developed process control strategies.
Develop in breadth knowledge of existing processes to identify process control optimization opportunities and write proposals to initiate control projects.
Utilize multivariate analysis to design for process capability
Present and participate in peer review of process control strategies across a diverse technology portfolio.
Document process control finding in technical reports.
Travel Requirements: Possible international and domestic travel. Could travel as much as 50%.
Hours of work: Monday-Friday 8-5pm
Required Education:
Masters or higher in a controls engineering discipline
With secondary degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, or mechatronics.
Required Years and Area of
Experience: Recent graduate (0-2 years experience)
Required Skills:
Familiarity with a diverse array of process controls strategies
Mat lab / Simulink
Programming in .NET languages such as C# and Visual Basic
Problem solving abilities
Strong verbal and written skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to prepare and present presentations
Desired Skills:
Electrical troubleshooting skills
FPGA (embedded systems)
System Modeling and / or identification
CAD familiarity (i.e. Solid Works)Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
