Our client, a thriving semiconductor company, is seeking a Sr. Design Engineer in Sunnyvale, CA.
In this key role, you will
Design and develop new custom and standard connector assembly solutions.
Generate product proposals presentations, solid models, specifications and scope of work.
Participate in design reviews, Risk Assessments and project support and other engineering initiatives.
Utilize SolidWorks 3D Modeling software and PDM system to create and maintain design data.
Use FEA and other techniques to evaluate and optimize designs.
Create detailed 2D drawings using Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance.
Partner with manufacturing teams on design of manufacturability reviews with each new design.
Stay current with industry trends, tools, processes and new technologies.
Requirements for Sr. Design Engineer:
Must have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. MS degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
5-10 years of experience in electronic components, ideally in the interconnect space.
Experience in mobile electronics such as cell phones, tablet computers, etc., is highly desired.
Must have SolidWorks 3D modeling software experience.
Gage/dimensioning and tolerance analysis expertise is desirable.
Modeling skills such as (Static and Dynamic FEA, Stress-Strain Distributions and Signal Integrity) and characterization experience a plus.
Experience with electro-mechanical interconnects, printed circuit boards, flex circuits, and electronic packaging preferred.
Must be able to work effectively on cross functional teams as well as independently.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, problem solving and time management skills.
Fluency in Mandarin language highly desired.
Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Salary: $100 - $120K
