Job
Summary: Oversee all shipping and receiving responsibilities.
Essential Functions:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Responsible for shipping scheduled orders on time, or as early as possible
Conduct daily 3:00 Production meeting
Assure that labor resources are utilized as efficiently as possible by scheduling to peak periods
Assure packaging supplies are in stock to complete packaging duties
Assure in-coming goods are received in a timely, accurate and proper manner
Responsible for maintaining a warehouse that is well organized, clean and with each skid labeled with required information
Contact customer service to seek resolution on shipping problems
Assure that department adheres to company policies, procedures and initiatives
Work with purchasing to correct any issues or discrepancies with incoming shipments
Notify the product management team when shipments arrive that need their inspection
Able to effectively communicate across departmental lines
All other duties as assigned by manager
Skills/Experience Required
Bachelors Degree or 5
years equivalent experience
5
years previous shipping/receiving experience a must
Prior experience managing a staff of 5
employees
Manufacturing experience a plus
Strong communication skills
Proven leadership ability
Strong business acumen
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Employee must be able to frequently lift up to 50 lbs, occasionally 50-100 lbs, able to push/pull up to 40 lbs frequently and on occasion 41-100 lbs. This position also requires sitting at a desk and working on a computer frequently throughout the day. Physical activity required incudes bending, reaching, lifting and prolonged periods of standing.
