Data Center Design Architect
The aggressively growing storage solutions division of the Midwest's leading consultative technology partner, Alexander Open Systems is looking to expand our family with top-tier talent, in the Des Moines metro.We are growing by leaps and bounds in the area and are looking to fill our latest position , Data Center Design Architect with one who is ready to take that next career move and WORK WITH THE BEST.
Responsibilities:
Working with customers to assess business needs
Research available and appropriate solutions
Design solutions to holistically integrate with current and planned infrastructure
Responsible to present proposals for various solutions to admin management and C-levels as well as help to justify costs. Influence strategy for customer infrastructure design and direction to be seen as the trusted advisor in the account. Maintain vendor relationships. Strong base knowledge of Data Center industry leading products and positioning. Continuous research and knowledge sharing. Regularly working with third party vendors and outside consultants.
Knowledge and Skill Set:
Strong knowledge of Enterprise storage systems, replication technologies and DR architectures
Strong technical knowledge of virtualization solutions
Strong knowledge of Back and Recovery solutions
Strong knowledge of Data Center server and blade technologies
Ability to provide professional documentation ( diagrams, specifications, technical requirements, proposals)
Candidate must be considered well versed and have considerable experience designing and managing Data Center environments for several years. Must be able to work well as part of a larger team. Strong relationship and personable skills a must. Candidate must be comfortable with presenting solutions and have good public speaking skills.
Technical knowledge of the following vendor products are a plus:
EMC VMware HP Cisco Liebert
EMCTA required
Experience of at least 3 years in Systems Engineering is required. Only individuals that meet these requirements and qualifications will be considered qualified for this position and considered a candidate.
