CH2M HILL Environmental Project Manager Careers - Baton Rouge or New Orleans
Our Environmental Project Manager careers provide you with the opportunity to lead staff, interact with clients and regulators, perform remedial design work, help restore environmentally impaired sites and provide our industrial clients a wide array of environmental compliance services. This position will offer you the ability to provide oversight and management of multiple, complex tasks (simultaneously) while also making technical contributions to your projects. You should be a self-motivated, team-focused professional with at least 8 years of experience including direct project experience with site remediation, managing tasks involving multiple methods of site remediation and site management/characterization; and conducting remedial investigations, feasibility studies, engineering evaluations, remedial designs/actions, or site characterization following, RECAP, RCRA and CERCLA guidance. You preferably have experience on commercial projects, and have a desire to grow personally as well as professionally with each environmental project manager job.
Our Environmental Project Managers :
Demonstrated ability to plan, staff, schedule, budget, and ensure quality of work products, consistency across projects, ensure safety of staff, and coordinate with contractors and internal support staff.
Experience with understanding and applying principles of financial management
Execution of change management to successful deliver projects to meet scope, schedule and budget expectations
Demonstration of fundamental contract (prime and subcontract) understanding
Have day-to-day interaction with our clients and regulators, and present information and frequently participate at meetings.
Analyze data; prepare remedial reports, conduct studies, evaluations, and cost assessments.
Manage remediation tasks/projects involving investigation, design, construction, O&M; and permitting.
Interact with internal team members in the local office, as well as regional and firm-wide staff.
Mentor and coach junior level staff.
Lead and support safety, quality, and environmental compliance plans.
Possess strong writing, verbal communication, and leadership skills.
Manage tasks and/or projects for commercial clients.
Promote safety leadership and accountability and increase safety awareness to prevent employee and subcontractor injuries

Basic Qualifications
BS degree in Environmental, Civil, or Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, or Environmental Science
8 years of environmental project experience, including soil and groundwater remediation
3 years of project management experience
Experience managing projects/tasks involving multiple methods of site remediation with a focus on site management/characterization and remedial design/remedial action
Experience writing technical reports and proposals
HAZWOPER certification or ability to obtain
Baton Rouge Safety Council Basic Plus training or ability to obtain
TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) or ability to obtain
Must be able to plan and perform field work
