The CFD Engineer is responsible for the following:
Job Description
The Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Engineer provides expertise and technical leadership in the design of systems involving momentum, energy, and mass transport
Computational Fluid Dynamics, the CFD Aero / Thermal Virtual Analysis Architecture is responsible to support advanced architecture development team with aero / thermal CFD simulations
The duties will include carrying out aero CFD based DOE simulations to optimize the greenhouses and underbody design in conjunction with hard point requirements during early concept phase of architecture development
Subsequently, the scope of CFD DOEs will include aero thermal attributes to ensure overall reduction in vehicle demand without loss of powertrain efficiency
Interact with architecture, design, test, and other functional areas
Enhance process, tools, and methods for architecture developments
Required Skills
Experience in simulations for aero/thermal development, support cooling, thermal protection and climate control developments
Extensive experience using CFD software: STAR-CCM+, CFD-ACE, Powerflow, ANSA, and Hypermesh
Experience in automating simulation process to facilitate large number of DOE simulations including preprocessing, simulation and post processing
5 years' experience in aero / thermal development activities in an OEM setting
Capability to interpret CFD results and communicate key message to design community
Strong understanding of product development process, various vehicle systems and interplay between them
