The Grill/Fry Cook (Friturier) is responsible for preparing grilled or fried foods and must be able to perform all station functions of Fry and Flat Top Griddle. He/She must have thorough knowledge of grill ticket abbreviations, fry cook area layout, portion control, proper frying procedures, frying items, plate presentation and proofing/baking procedures. The ideal Fry Cook candidate has a minimum of one year training and/or experience and is responsible to:
Clean food preparation equipment, work areas, and counters or tables
Plan work on orders so that items served together are finished at the same time
Grill, cook, and fry foods such as french fries, eggs, pancakes, etc.
Take orders from customers and cook foods requiring short preparation times, according to customer requirements
Grill and garnish hamburgers or other meats such as steaks and chops
Perform simple food preparation tasks such as making sandwiches, carving meats, and brewing coffee
Order and stock supplies
Accept payments and make change or write charge slips as necessaryEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
