Job Description:
Minimum 5 years of experience in administering InfoSphere platform on an Unix platform (RHEL preferred)
o Knowledge of the Windows OS and Linux a must.
o Knowledge of LDAP authentication methods.
o Thorough understanding of the ETL suites technical concepts
o Strong UNIX/PERL scripting knowledge
o Familiarity with ETL tools including Informatica,Abinitio
o Experience with Oracle RDBMS 10g or higher
o IBM InfoSphere certifications a plus, but not necessary
o Detail oriented and must be able to think independently
o Presentation skills to present details to senior technology and business management team
o Skill in managing one's own time and the time of others based on an established project plan
o Skill in using analytics, logic and reasoning to troubleshoot issues and find the best solutions to challenges
o Strong customer service orientation.
o Must be able to manage multiple tasks with conflicting priorities
Responsibilities:
o Analyze existing ETL
jobs
and provide recommendations for performance improvement
o Perform the role of datastage operator,
manager
while balancing ETL jobs
o Manage InfoSphere Information Server sessions/job scheduling
o Manage Information Server components: DataStage, Admin console and related Infoshpere components
o Configure logging and reporting and troubleshoot audit trace files
o Analyze and Tune Performance Analysis and Resource Estimator tools
o Establish database connectivity with Information Server using direct API connections and ODBC drivers
o Gather and process operational metadata
o Manage system performance to meet required end user performance requirements
o Manage metadata assets using istool and Information Server Manager
o Create, build, and deploy packages using Information Server Manager
o Plan for Backup and restore using Information Server and help design enterprise architecture
o Manage enterprise wide Job management
o Configure Information Server clients, including Information Analyzer, FastTrack, and Metadata Workbench
o Troubleshoot issues as they arise
o Use Import Export Manager to import metadata from external tools into the Information Server Repository
o Manage enterprise wide Data warehousing applications and finetune current ETL/ELT jobs for performance
o Re-architect existing Data warehousing ETL architecture to support multiple enterprise projects
o Integrate with IBM BigData toolset: Netezza
o Other duties as required for ELT/ETL for IBM family of product.
