Role:
To work in the areas of BIW sheet metal function.
To design and evaluate Vehicle Body Parts (Sheet Metal) and NVH Parts in the Following Areas
Body in White - Underbody, Upperbody, Skin Panels and HOPS
Crash and other regulation compliance
NVH Systems (Floor Carpets, Mel Sheets)
Responsibilities:
Design of part and components in Vehicle BIW and NVH Systems while ensuring tool, part/component and vehicle manufacturability.
Coordination of design activity, and development of coherent styling, design of parts.
Coordination with Vendors / Production for Design improvements for Feasibility, Cost and Yield.
Technical/ Functional:
Understanding of principles of design of Sheet Metal.
Exposure to manufacturing methods in Sheet Metal assemblies.
Basic design concepts in Hang On Parts.
Technical Training in relevant areas as per requirement.
Exposure to evaluation systems and process of countermeasures.
DFMEA, DFM, DFA, DFS etc.
Behavioral
Ability to work within a team effectively.
Should be able to guide small number of team members.
Effective communication
Good English Skills
Specific expertise required for functional area :
CATIA V5 CRITICAL
Understanding of GD&T principles
Exposure to relevant design standards
Exposure to relevant regulations (Current, Future) governing various markets.
Ideal Requirement: Candidate with OEM experience with at least one complete design cycle experience (From concept, design, evaluation, production and countermeasures based on field trials and customer feedback.)Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
