Belcan is currently seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer for our client in Oldsmar, FL. Our client designs and manufactures high pressure turbine blades used by air carriers.
The Manufacturing Engineer will develop and implement new manufacturing procedures and improve existing manufacturing procedures for turbine engine components to comply with Company, customer and regulated requirements. Provide technical support to customer service, and production personnel. Develop and improve manufacturing designs and processes.
Job
Responsibilities:
Develop new manufacturing procedures and/or processes and improve existing manufacturing procedures and processes.
Develop and/or improve manufacturing designs and processes and revise travelers as necessary.
Establish and approve process parameters/technique sheet.
Provide technical support to production cells to implement new repairs and/or processes into production.
Investigate process/quality problems and implement solutions to maintain standards.
Disposition production discrepancies.
Evaluate customer requirements and develop/prepare
repair
procedures, specifications and other technical documents.
Specify equipment and materials and prepare cost estimates.
Train shop personnel.
Customer support technical liaison.
General department housekeeping.
Maintain production standards/quality.
Adhere to and promote Corporate Code of Ethical Standards.
Ensures compliance with Company and ISO-9001 quality requirements.
Comply with department procedures and requirements.
Other Duties and
Responsibilities:
Participate in technical presentations to customers and/or industry conferences.
Write and maintain training manuals.
Performing other tasks in the facility as needed.
Travel outside facility as needed.
Job Qualification Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or higher in an
engineering
discipline.

years related work experience in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent
10
years of experience in machining turbine hot section gas path components preferred
Proficient in Microsoft (i.e. Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook)
Manufacturing turbine blades
Grinding of turbine hot section gas path components
Creep Feed grinding is a must
CNC Programming
Background Preferred (but not required):
EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining)
Interface with OEM
Investment casting process
Writing and maintaining training manuals
Tooling experienced
Project management
Gas turbine components
Trained in Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing methodologies
