Job Description: Raytheon will be establishing a regional office in the Aberdeen, MD area to facilitate a team of subject matter experts, and other support personnel, who will support high performance

software application development and analytical research for the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD). This regional office is to be fully staffed by September 2013. Raytheon Company is accepting applications from prospective candidates, in various technical and non-technical capacities, entry-level to seasoned professionals, to fill several very important roles of responsibility. The following job description describes the criteria for the role of Mid-Level High Performance Software Engineer. The Mid-Level High Performance Software Engineer analysis, design, programming, and modification of computer programs for software products and customer applications. He/she develops overall system architecture, program specifications, system test procedure, and converts project specifications and procedures to detailed logical flow charts for coding into computer language. In addition, he/she will write software and complete programming, testing and debugging of applications. He/she determines forms, procedures and other documentation needed for the installation and maintenance of application programs. Required Skills: 6 years of experience in systems analysis, software development, application analysis, process and data modeling, as well as process improvement and engineering methodologies. Experienced in system design methodologies, and evaluation of alternative system solutions. Knowledge of and experience in identifying best practices in software development and processes. Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Desired Skills: Experience providing software development and support in a high-performance computer environment. Skilled in high-level programming languages, e.g., C/C , Java, FORTRAN, HPF. Experience with parallelization techniques including MPI and OpenMP.
