Science Background/Degree What You'll Be Doing: - Requirements analysis. - Solution architecture. - N-tier Software application architecture that includes Oracle database tier, Java app server tier (JBoss), web tier and system wide performance considerations. - Experience with troubleshooting Middle tier application performance issues and review Java code. - Experience with Maven and other software development tools. - Interaction and thought leadership with Application group and Operations group. - Hands on development and routinely performing code reviews and application logs. - Write design docs, review designs, estimates and code. - Triage/defect call participation and guidance. - Technical leadership for source control branching, merging, environment planning and daily builds. - Post release support, active troubleshooting of production problem. What You Need to Bring to the Table: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science is preferred. - Five (5) plus years of experience in an architect capacity. - Ten (10) plus years of industry experience. - Proven technical leadership and architect experience in building complex business applications. - Expert level knowledge and hands-on experience in J2EE Web based transactional applications. - Object Oriented technologies, Java, Servlets, Application Servers such as WebLogic or Jboss. - Very good command over SQL and workings of relational databases such as Oracle. - Good knowledge XML, SOAP, WebServices and system integrations. - Experience with Rich Internet Applications based on Adobe Flex or similar technology. - Ability to pick up new technologies, solve complex technical problems and multitask between different projects. - Must be able to work in a team environment. - Excellent communication skills. - Experience building enterprise or SaaS software.
