Responsibilities: Holland, Inc., a recognized leader in the transportation industry in search of a Driver Safety Trainer. This position will located at our facility in Indianapolis,
indiana
and will report to the Director of Safety. The role of the Driver Safety Trainer will be to train new Holland drivers in the following areas: Smith System defensive driving techniques Holland Safety Processes Holland Safe Work rules Company policies and regulations Forklift training OSHA Annual training Duties and Responsibilities Administer road tests as part of the new driver selection process. Participate in interviewing driver candidates and assist with completion of the orientation program. Assist safety director as a resource for driver/driving topics and material for safety meetings and help conduct meetings as required. Assist location managers in completing annual driver demonstrations. Complete follow up training that is identified through observation rides or accident investigations. Work safely and meet the requirements of all Holland safety procedures and rules as prescribed by State and Federal law Ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word are critical Must be able to plan a learning curriculum for new drivers as well as experienced drivers. Ability to schedule employees from multiple locations Ability to work alone and unsupervised for long periods of time Ability to fairly measure and score drivers on their skill and competency Needs to be a self-starter and motivated by challenges Willing to work days or nights and travel 10 to 20% Able to work outside on and around industrial equipment
Qualifications: Qualifications (Certificates, Licenses, Registrations) Must possess valid class A CDL with hazardous material and tanker endorsement Have ZERO preventable incidents/accidents in the past 5 years Must have a current medical card. Must have or be able to have Smith System certification Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or 5 years of experience in a related field of work Conducted training
