Senior Java System Analyst Prestigious Enterprise Company is in need of a Senior Java Systems Analyst. Position analyzes system requirements and converts those requirements into functional and technical system design for new systems and system enhancements. The position understands and resolves business and technical issues and is responsible for the functional and technical design and construction activities for new systems and system enhancements. The position is responsible for performing design and code reviews to ensure compliance with corporate and industry standards. The position will work on a broad range of concurrent projects, independently and with the project leadership/team. In need of someone who has worked with Unix, Weblogic, MQ and Oracle and who understands JNDI, JMS and Web
services
. We don't need someone who can develop code, but want someone who has worked with this stuff in the past and can manage over the professional services firm that is working in house. This person will be customer facing and have a heavy weight on communication/soft skills.
Responsibilities:- Interact with business partners, team members, and Information Services staff to ensure the smooth development and installation of assigned projects or purchased software. - Translate business and functional requirements to create functional and technical specifications using system level appropriate modelling and documentation techniques within defined application architectures. - Accountable for the successful delivery of system design deliverables. - Understand system architecture sufficiently to facilitate resolution of technical issues and incidents. - Identify problems and gaps at the program or system level and recommend alternative solutions. - Recommend process improvements that increase efficiency and quality of work. - Ensure consistency and the proper level of reusability in the technical design of applications. - Estimate the size of technical system resources needed and impact on integrated systems. - Assist in the creation and monitoring of development activities according to project plans, defining risks, anticipating delays and resolving issues. - Mentor new and existing associates on design and development best practices and provide feedback regarding individual performance. - Code and unit test structured program changes and/or new programs. - Conduct design and code reviews to ensure compliance with industry best practices for larger efforts. - Create and review system, integration and acceptance test plans, for accuracy and completeness. - Develop and implement the deployment plan. - Make oral presentations to business partners and IS staff. - Assist in successful transition of new systems or enhancements from the Development team to the Service Delivery team. - Provide timely and accurate Level 3 on-call support for production applications. - Monitor workload across team of developers and analysts, adjusting assignments as needed to meet schedule and budget deadlines. - Work with Technical Solutions and Enterprise Architects to design, develop and integrate enterprise services. - Define and coordinate the build process. - Build and maintain application prototypes. -
Qualifications:- Effective verbal and written communication skills. - Ability to work as part of a team and interact effectively with others. - Displays initiative, self-motivation, and effective time-management skills. - Multiple years of experience in a professional environment performing analysis, design and development tasks on multiple platforms. - Candidate has 5-10 years experience designing and developing complex, highly integrated systems on multiple development platforms. - Ability to communicate effectively with various levels of Senior Management. - Experience with multiple databases, development environments and platforms. - Experience in a technical leadership role on medium to large projects, including effective prioritization, delegation and mentoring of team members. - Bachelor's Degree in MIS,
