LIVE-IN Pet/House Sitter 9/3 to 9/20

Live-In Pet Sitter/House Sitter
Full-Time Job Sept. 3rd thru Sept. 20th
Hi,
Sheltie Rescue of Utah's pet sitter has gone back to school and we're sad to see her go. Sheltie Rescue is a 501c3 nonprofit organization looking for someone who can LIVE-IN and take care of about 10 dogs and 1 cat. This is a FULL TIME JOB for 18 days. We will train you and compensate you for your training time. Training starts immediately for the right person --- smart, responsible, dependable, and for whom the dogs' welfare is your number one concern while doing this job. We will train you in advance to make sure you are familiar with the dogs, their personalities, how to care for them, how to give them medication, and more.
You will be responsible for the health and well-being of our four-legged rescue kids some of whom need medication throughout the day. There may be fragile dogs that you will be responsible for providing with the best care possible - taking them to the veterinarian as needed and paying attention to any changes in their behavior or attitude.
You will need to pay attention to the dogs throughout the day and evening. If you run an errand you'll be putting them in their day beds while you're out, so that they're safe and comfortable. When it's time to go to sleep you will put everyone in their correct nighttime bed. The dogs are fed twice a day at 9:00am and 5:00pm and given their medications at specified times during the day. You'll be taking them outside to Go Potty, watching to make sure nobody has diarrhea or is constipated, and cleaning up behind them. The dogs go potty frequently throughout the day. Except for a few hours to run errands, we expect you to stay with and care for the dogs and household.
This job includes answering the phone, taking messages, and relaying them to us. This job requires that you stay in touch with us so we can check on you and the dogs and make sure that everyone, including our cat, is doing well. We sometimes need to talk with our pet sitter daily or even multiple times a day to address a medical or behavioral issue that arises. If answering the phone and regularly letting us know how the household is doing makes you uncomfortable or is irritating to you, this is not the job for you.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB ALSO INCLUDE:
MUST LOVE FOUR-LEGGED KIDS UNCONDITIONALLY
You must have YOUR OWN VEHICLE. If a car belongs to a friend, boyfriend, or anyone else, do not apply.
If you have pets to care for or a full or part-time job, you won't be able to meet our needs. You are being hired to care for our rescue kids FULL TIME. We need your focus on them- not other responsibilities.
If you are a smoker - we can't hire you because of health issues for our rescues and ourselves.
If you have any problem cleaning the yard or cleaning the house as needed, this is not the job for you.
Sheltie Rescue has an ongoing need for LIVE-IN pet sitting in the upcoming months including tentative dates in October and November. If you're good with the dogs we'd be very interested in an ongoing working relationship.
