Regular / Full Time Because of the nature of clients this company has, the position requires US CITIZENS with the Security clearance or those eligible for Security clearance Our Client, a fast growing spin-off company developing next generation, miniaturized chemical detectors (mass spectrometers) is seeking a chemist specializing in method development and customer support.
The applications chemist will support product management and sales teams by developing customer specific applications for Client's mass spectrometer-based product line.
The applications chemist will also work with the product development and core engineering team to advance technical developments and provide post-sales customer support.
MINIMUM REQUIRED
Qualifications:
BS degree in Chemistry or related scientific field and 7 years' experience or MS/ Ph.
D.
in Analytical Chemistry, Physical Chemistry or related field and 3 years' experience 5
years of technical experience as a power user/developer in the mass spectrometry field Experience testing and troubleshooting mass spectrometers and/or GC-MS instruments Proven track record of analytical and problem-solving skills PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:
Designing experiments and methods based on customer specific applications to demonstrate how small mass spectrometer technology can be used to solve real-world problems Documentation of applications development efforts in the form of application notes and technical presentations Providing technical customer support for Client's mass spectrometer-based product line Supporting manufacturing and engineering teams by performing system level functional testing of miniature and industrial mass spectrometer and GC-MS products Collaboration with engineers to improve instrument design and increase functionality Test data collection, processing, interpretation, and documentation DESIRABLE
Experience:
Experience designing, building, and/or maintaining GC or GC-MS instruments and sample introduction systems Experience providing first-point-of-contact customer support Analysis or support/service in one or more key focus industry:
Petrochemical PAC/PAT Environmental monitoring Pharmaceutical manufacturing Semiconductor AMC monitoring Food and beverage Engineering or software education or experience would be a plus Preference will be given to candidates with active security clearance The ideal candidate will be:

The instrument can satisfy the chemical detection requirements for a variety of markets, including industrial, food and agricultural, security, and defense.
