Designs, codes, tests, debugs and documents software according to Dells systems quality standards, policies and procedures.
Analyzes business needs and creates software solutions.
Responsible for preparing design documentation.
Prepares test data for unit, string and parallel testing.
Evaluates and recommends software and hardware solutions to meet user needs.
Resolves customer issues with software solutions and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.
Works with business and development teams to clarify requirements to ensure testability.
Drafts, revises, and maintains test plans, test cases, and automated test scripts.
Executes test procedures according to software requirements specifications Logs defects and makes recommendations to address defects.
Retests software corrections to ensure problems are resolved.
Documents evolution of testing procedures for future replication.
May conduct performance and scalability testing.
Responsibilities:
Plans, conducts and manages assignments generally involving large, high budgets (cross- functional) projects or more than one project.
Assists in creating the strategic technical and architectural direction to the programming function.
Serves as point of contact between IT and key business users senior leadership in defining IT solution based on business needs.
Drives changes in architecture, methodology or programming procedures.
Performs estimation efforts on the most complex projects and tracks progress.
Obtains detailed specification from business users and development to ascertain specific output information requirements.
Prepares detailed plans for managing cross-testing team dependencies.
Serves as the testing consultant to leader in the IT organization and functional user groups.
Mentors team members on all aspects of testing concepts.
Description Comments DESCRIPTION We are looking for a Principal Application Developer with strong REST and Java J2EE (backend) development experience on cloud based solutions including web services, database and continuous integration.
As a Principal Application Developer you will guide the team in continued evolution of our REST based applications to bring new ideas and technologies to the table.
As part of an agile development team, you will guide the other team members to ensure development is done to a high standard.
You will have the opportunity to drive regular knowledge sharing sessions with peers.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills are important, along with a keen focus on delivering value to our customers.
Effective communication, collaboration, mentoring the team and self-organization are key competencies required from all development team members along with the ability to work in a fast-paced, ever changing environment.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Involve in providing technical solution for a given business requirement Involve in design, estimating & planning Provide guidance to team members in all phases of project Be an agile development team member, responsible for collaborating with the team on release planning, sprint planning and scoping Develop REST based services using the appropriate computer languages while adhering to team development standards and practices Design and specify test procedures including unit, system, and integration testing.
Design application test data, debug programs using appropriate system tools and ensure features developed are accurate and meet the specification Identify and communicate impediments to your team and actively work to remove them Continually strive for technical excellence An Ideal Candidate must have 8-10 years of expertise working with various JAVA & J2EE (JDBC, ORM, JPA, JMS) technologies Experience in Open Source tools like Apache Web/App servers, Apache Storm, Apache Spark 5-8 years of experience in DB technologies like Oracle, PostgreSQL Experience in using MQ frameworks like RabbitMQ, Kafka Experience in Micro services frameworks like Spring boot, Drop wizard Experience in Spring Core and Integration Experience in REST Web Services Possess good understanding of both network and system security Experience in Performance and scalability java tuning Exposure to virtualization techniques Experience in Linux and Unit platforms Experience in Cloud technologies like Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF), AWS, Azure Experience in DevOps tools like Docker Exposure to C/C+
Experience performing functional testing of REST-based web services Exposure to unit testing tools, such as:
