Director, Advanced Technology Programs
Our client is currently seeking a Director, Advanced Technology Programs Job Description Our client is seeking a highly driven leader with experience in building products that include licensing third-party technologies and also managing the strategic vendor relationships.
This individual will work with senior product leadership to identify areas of the company BI platform that can be expanded through licensing technologies and to oversee the integration of the technology.
Third-party technology could be commercial or open-source with the integrations built by the company or contracted out.
This leader will work closely with customers and internal teams on business and technical requirements, validate the broader market opportunity including working with Sales to size the business impact, oversee the development effort, manage the vendor relationships, and deliver internal training to field and support teams.
The role will require communication across functional teams and requires an individual who has a balance of not only technical understanding but also can maintain business-level context and most importantly drive timely delivery of projects.
Responsibilities? Identify new technology partners and OEM software that drive innovation Assess competency of the vendors providing contracted services Do the initial functional and technical due diligence of third-party technology Manage the ongoing strategic partnerships Communicate and collaborate with senior product leaders in making a business case, understanding the technical requirements, and driving deliverables with a team of product managers and engineers Articulate a strong technology vision and execution plan to the company's senior most executives Work with the legal team regarding contract execution and rights issues Track partners progress through periodic business reviews and ensure active development and contract compliance; Identify and resolve issues and bottlenecks early Transfer knowledge to Marketing and Business Development teams for go-to-market plans Transfer knowledge to Sales Engineering, Consulting and Support for training and education Qualifications 10
years in Product Management and Engineering disciplines 5
years of leveraging third-party software licenses in products with strong knowledge of software licensing details including open source and OEM flavors Demonstrated success in executing licensing opportunities that resulted in adding value to product offerings Ability to be collaborative but also assertive in working with third-party vendors as well as internal teams.
Must be able to listen but also be clear, insightful, and definitive in driving results Experience in Business Intelligence is preferred but strong Enterprise Software background is sufficient Strong negotiation skills to ensure the best business terms including detailed product deliverables, product support, and product updates Entrepreneurial mindset to be able to think creatively and strategically and drive opportunities Ability to quickly establish a leadership position with teams to ensure proper execution and prioritization Excellent written and oral presentation skills - both to customer and executive management Results driven.
Must be able to deliver on product deadlines with highest quality BA/BS degree required, MBA or MS preferred ID:
