Grid Administrator
Grid Administrator who will build, support and manage distributed Compute Grid Platform.
Candidate acts in the higher level technical role as an individual contributor and/or lead for the most complex computer applications and/or application initiatives.
Candidate utilizes a thorough understanding of available technology, designs and existing tools.
Works on the most complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires evaluation of intangible variance factors.
Plans, performs, and acts as the escalation point for the most complex platform designs, configurations, and testing.
Candidate should have and be able to demonstrate the following competencies:
Hands on experience capturing functional and non-functional requirements, grid data flow issue troubleshooting to include expertise in:
Expert level skills understanding server infrastructure, storage and network data flow issues Extensive experience using data analysis skills using SAR, PerfMon, Tcpdump, ITRS etc to analyze and correct grid issues Demonstrable experience with process automation using Linux or Windows scripting.
Using documentation tools like Visio, MS Word, Confluence, Excel, Splunk etc Excellent Communication skills to:
Communicate and provide clarity on requirements to Tech Team Discuss, negotiate and communicate requirements with business dev teams & infrastructure partners Discuss and educate QA and Production Support teams Ability to understand business technical problems and articulate a corresponding solution This individual will work with development and technical support teams on application and/ or patch installation, configuration, systems integration, testing, user acceptance testing, deployment and post go-live support.
They will be part of the 24X7 escalation support process for all Securities Platform Management environments.
The position will take a key role in support and implementation of application infrastructure that requires collaboration across various infrastructure teams to integrate best practices and efficiencies into production environments while mitigating risk through testing and capacity planning.
Required Qualifications - 5
years of application support experience, platform management experience, or a combination of both 3
years of experience in capital markets and investment banking 5
years of Grid computing experience 5
years of Linux experience 3
years of Windows or Linux scripting experience 3
years of application production support experience 6
years of distributed servers platform experience 3
years of workload automation tool experience Desired Qualifications - Extensive experience in the capital markets business and processes Functional knowledge and understanding of application support for capital markets & investment banking applications Strong business and technical understanding of end to end capital markets trading and operational environments Expert knowledge and understanding of capital markets:
quality assurance testing, high performance computing, middleware and platform management tools Knowledge and understanding of financial industry regulations supporting technological solutions such as:
SEC, FINRA, Dodd Frank, and Basel A BS/BA degree or higher Knowledge and understanding of technology infrastructure:
large capital market enterprises Knowledge and understanding of system monitoring and automation Department:
Executive Management.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
