Job Description:
Under general direction, maintains the District's networking systems by designing and implementing computer and information networks.
In addition, this position performs network modeling, analysis, and planning; design and build data communication networks, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), intranets, or a segment of a network system.
Maintain and troubleshoot network equipment (routers, switches, firewalls, wireless, servers, etc.
).
Perform network installations, upgrades and configuration changes to network hardware and software.
Supports all system back-up and restore protocols.
Prepare and maintain documentation of the District's WAN and LANs.
Assist in research and development of improvements to data network.
Assign appropriate access and restrictions to network resources.
Provide support to network and remote users.
Responds to help desk networking questions and problems.
Monitors system performance and implements performance tuning.
Provide voice telecommunication problem resolution, as it pertains to the District's network infrastructure.
