QA Engineer

SCIGON is seeking a software QA engineer for a full-time position in Itasca, IL The Software QA Engineer will be responsible for defining, reviewing, and executing test protocols.
They will also provide frontline support for identifying and debugging software defects.
The Software QA Engineer will investigate complex issues and provide analysis, potentially including fix recommendations.
The primary responsibility of this position is to help develop quality software and maintain test infrastructure.
Responsibilities include:
Gather and document test case requirements.
Perform testing, clearly log defects, maintain test data, and monitor test performance over time.
Investigate incoming bug reports by reproducing issues and investigating logs.
Design, develop, and execute automated tests, both black-box and white-box test cases.
Design, develop and maintain in-house test automation framework.
Design, develop and execute unit, integration, regression and performance tests Work collaboratively with software developers.
Mapping requirements to unit, integration, and system tests.
Estimating, prioritizing, planning and coordinating quality testing activities Basic
Qualifications:
Strong understanding of web and mobile application testing and technologies Experience in unit-testing, continuous integration and continuous deployment.
Experience reviewing unit tests for coverage and effectiveness.
Knowledge of IT process improvement and various software QA standards.
Expertise with both manual and automated testing SQL experience Working knowledge of Agile methodologies and supporting techniques (e.
g.
Test Driven Development and continuous integration processes), system implementations, and traditional specification driven approaches.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as strong analytical, presentation and reporting skills.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Proven experience in QA automation (Selenium, Coded UI, SpecFlow) Technical background (databases, client-server architecture, programming) 'Test to break' mentality Working knowledge with Microsoft.
Net stack (Test Professional and Visual Studio TFS) Experience with performance and/or security testing Industry knowledge also a plus:
Transportation, Logistics, PO and Warehouse Management.
Education:
BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
